The coincidence of bumping into beautiful things, a closer look at production

We travelled to Tunisia to visit one of our production ateliers. Since 2022, we have been working with LSP, a Belgian family business with a background in leather goods that spans three generations. Their atelier is located in Tunisia, where production takes place according to European standards, using European materials.

The visit was centred around the atelier and what we encountered along the way. Studio Alfons Meyer documented the days, moving between making and surroundings.

Transparency in material use and production processes is a core value. Which is why we travelled to Tunisia together with documentary and film studio Alfons Meyer. The goal was to meet the craftspeople, see their work firsthand, and explore the surroundings. Maintaining direct contact with the makers. Everyone works in their own way and it is inspiring to visit those places and interact with the people at the studio.

Working with the atelier goes beyond production alone. We visit regularly, exchange feedback openly and adjust where needed. This ongoing presence is essential to us. It allows us to remain involved at every stage and to ensure that decisions are made with knowledge of both design and making. Transparency is a deliberate choice. We believe it is important to show where and how our bags are made, and with whom, as a way of acknowledging the people and processes behind the objects we create.
